An armed store clerk (with a valid CCW permit) dispatched an armed thug trying to rob a beer store. From Go Erie:
[Police Capt.] Tesore said police were told the robber came in and displayed a gun, and once the clerk said he informed the robber that he was also armed, the robber “made a movement to bolster his position.” That’s when the clerk fired his gun, Tesore said.
“We are not encouraging people, naturally, to carry guns and get gun permits and take matters into their own hands,” Tesore said. “This situation, from what we’ve been told of it, this individual posed a life threat to the clerk in this case, and it’s probably a good thing he did have that weapon.”
The case continues to be investigated but the local police department seems to have the right attitude about it. “Probably.”
