MA: April 16th is Patriots Day, Except For Gun Owners
No doubt, if not for the well armed and courageous Patriots who, at all costs, sought to garner freedom for future generations, the Declaration of Independence would not have been adopted by Congress on July 4, 1776, just 19 months later.
[ . . . ]
So, it comes as quite a shock that today, 237 years after the Battles of Lexington and Concord, Massachusetts has a pathetic, sorrowful, demeaning slew of gun control laws and regulations that would make any Second Amendment loving American turn green in color due to rapid, acidic stomach upheaval.
Yet folks there continue to vote for politicians who would deny them the rights of Patriots — the theme of the piece.

Massachusetts learned a lesson from the British. You do not impose gun control in one big decree. You take your time, such as 237 years to slowly make it worse than anything the British could have dreamed up. You’ve got to hand it to those clever Bostonians!

I lived in the Worcester area from 1996 - 2000. One Patriots Day, one of the local gun shop/ranges offered a free rental & a box of ammo to shoot on their range. Naturally there were protesters on the sidewalk, but he line to get in a shoot was much, much longer! I guess that shows something.
