Porn Industry Asks For Bailout
By Golly, why not?
Girls Gone Wild CEO Joe Francis and “Hustler” magazine publisher Larry Flynt have said they will petition Congress for financial aid along the lines of what the Big Three auto makers are getting.
Francis said that he and Flynt are asking for $5 billion, and that they have sent letters to Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, Congress and their local Congressman, Henry Waxman (D-Calif.) with the proposal. Rep. Waxman’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The press release noted that DVD sales and rentals for the adult industry have decreased by 22% in the past year, partially because people are turning more and more to the Internet for adult content.
“People are too depressed to be sexually active,” Flynt said in the press release. “This is very unhealthy as a nation. Americans can do without cars and such but they cannot do without sex.”
Francis said he and Flynt would also be willing to discuss the possibility of the government buying equity stakes in their companies, as was done with financial firms.
Read the whole thing, it’s pretty funny.
I’m also sure that most of you will realize that Francis and Flynt are simply pulling our legs. Or something.

I love Larry Flynt. He’s got more balls than a Bowl-a-Rama.

If the gov’t does accept the terms of the bailout (why wouldn’t they?), I would volunteer to make sure everything is on the up and up.
Or something’s up and up anyway.

It’s a natural!!! We taxpayers have been getting screwed by the government for years. They sure as hell know a lot more about f’ing us with a smile and no lubricant than they do about making cars or paying a mortgage.

Bailouts? Eff bailouts! Maybe I’m not patriotic for saying this, but I like my porn and my cars to be all Asian.

I saw this story a few minutes ago, and I wondered if you’d comment on it. It must be a joke, and whether or not Fox and CNN (who reported on it) get it, I’m laughing.

In this difficult economic crisis it is certain that Congress has been keeping a close eye on the struggling adult entertainment industry. So, unlike Fannie & Freddie, the failing Francis & Flynt did not cum as a suprise to the deep thinkers on Capitol Hill.

look for dems to pass a bill, something with a witty name like PENIS, the Pron ( to appear to be cool to the internet base) Extension Nationalization and Institutionalization of Smut act that will require school libraries have fully stocked shelves, back issues, and of course “choice” int he form of every magazine. Subsidized rental fees and something along the lines of netflix available. What was that monthly book catalog that schools got and students could buy books from? Maybe something like that if they can’t force PENIS through.
This is only somewhat tongue in…uh nevermind.

I suspect such a huge package will be in for stiff resistance.

Glenn Beck did a brilliant segment on why the porn industry is more deserving of a bailout than the NYTimes is.
Then he stopped and said that there was a lot more but it’d get him kicked off the air if he actually said it. We can just _imagine_ what that is…
