Started in October of 2002, Alphecca is an occasional blog of OPINIONS by a conservative, gay gun nut living in Vermont. I write about politics, OTR, books, science, gun rights and the media bias against firearms, and anything else that strikes my fancy. Your opinions about my opinions are welcome in the comments and as I always say, thanks so much for stopping by.

Hi John,

We were running a monthly special during the month of February for our GT Reactive @ 135. The current price is our stable price of $179, which is still a great value. They are extremely durable and will last for a very long time. Great pieces of equipment.

Feel free to contact me for upcoming specials on our products.

Thanks,
GT

Hi Jeff,

All I can find is the target on Grizzley's website for $179.00. $135.00 sounds better, can the price have gone up that much in a month since your post?
Our range is still closed too, Derby. Where do you shoot?

The round portion is 4" in diameter. The width of the rest of the target, above the circle, is 2". The width of the target below the round part starts at 2 3/4" and tapers to 2 1/4" just above the bolts. The height of the target above the bolt heads is 10 1/2". The thickness of the target is 3/8".

Jeff: What is the diameter of the round portion? I went to the company website and they do not provide measurements for this item. Go figure??

If this target is to be shot at with a rifle the steel should be AR-550, according to other steel target makers.

AR-500 is standard target steel. You need that stuff because cheap steel can form a dimple when the bullet hits and throw it right back towards you. And cheap steel won't hold up to the pounding in any case.

Looks like a great target, and not bad for $135. Now I only need that 80 acres out in the country...
