Comments on: Burlington, VT: Proposal to Ban “Assault Weapons”

Started in October of 2002, Alphecca is an occasional blog of OPINIONS by a conservative, gay gun nut living in Vermont. I write about politics, OTR, books, science, gun rights and the media bias against firearms, and anything else that strikes my fancy. Your opinions about my opinions are welcome in the comments and as I always say, thanks so much for stopping by.

City councils love posturing*. Which is all this is.

(* Otherwise they'd have to admit they're basically powerless over anything of import, which the sort of people who become city councilmen can't abide..)

Hmm, you thinking this will apply a little more to Marine veterans and organic farmers than it does to onscreen media talent? Because "equality before the law" isn't the same as "equality after the law."

So we're having that "conversation." Next up, we'll converse on the rest of the amendments. You know, women voting, puttin y'all back in chains, quartering troops (why not? They're already decimated). Notice how the Second always comes first in these conversations.

"The people have a right to bear arms for the defence of themselves" is from 1777. Should be no problem shredding that, hell most of us weren't in high school yet. Why should we care? The Meghan codicil.
