Gov. Mary Fallin on Tuesday signed a measure allowing for guns to be carried openly.

The new law takes effect November 1st and you still need a CCW permit before you can do so.

The cops involved in this should have been thanking this man for his service — and the sacrifice of, the injuries he sustained in doing so — but instead, these cops treated him worse than, well:

Tar-and-feather these douche-bag cops.

A 64-year-old Erie man who tried to sell an antique pistol on the Discovery Channel TV show “American Guns” in December is accused of stealing the $20,000 revolver from a private museum in New Mexico.

More at the link. The gun is a Colt Dragoon black-powder revolver dating from the 1800’s and a viewer who knew of the missing gun called authorities. I’m guessing the alleged crook isn’t the brightest bulb in the chandelier.

Senate Bill 2573, sponsored by state Senators Harold Metts (D-6), Rhoda Perry (D-3), Juan Pichardo (D-2), Paul Jabour (D-5) and Elizabeth Crowley (D-16), is a dramatic departure from current law and completely overturns state pre-emption of firearms. This bill would allow anti-gun localities to impose whatever gun control measures they desire, and strip the state of its ability to regulate firearms. This dangerous and sweeping bill needs to be defeated.

The second bill, Senate Bill 2582 would impact innocent youth going hunting or just being pulled over driving their parents’ car if one of the parents left a gun in it.

The Obama campaign is out with a new two-minute attack ad, hitting Mitt Romney on his past at Bain Capital. The ad, set to run in Pennsylvania, Iowa, Ohio, Virginia and Colorado, plays up the “vulture capitalism” angle. “It was like a vampire,” says a former GS Steel worker named Joe Cobb. “They came in and sucked the life out of us.”

The Romney campaign is expected to push back aggressively on what they view as a major distraction from the president’s disastrous economic record. It shouldn’t be terribly hard. The bankruptcy and layoffs occurred in 2001, two years after Romney quit running the day-to-day activities of Bain (in order to head the Salt Lake City Olympics.)

In the end, it all comes back to, “Are you better off than you were four-years-ago?”

No, I’m not.

Update 5/15: While Romney left Bain Capital two years before GS Steel went bankrupt, one guy was and is still there. From Breitbart:

. . . there was a political power-player serving as a director of Bain at the time of the company’s bankruptcy and layoffs–Jonathan Lavine. Lavine joined Bain in 1993. He is currently Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer. He is also a major bundler for Barack Obama, raising between $100-200k for the his reelection. While we don’t know the specific role Lavine had in decisions regarding the bankrupt company, he certainly had more influence than someone who had left Bain two years before.

Obama’s $150,000 ‘BRIBE’: His campaign team ‘paid Rev Wright to stay quiet during 2008 campaign’

Reverend Jeremiah Wright caused problems for President Barack Obama’s campaign in 2008, and new details have emerged alleging that the then-candidate tried to convince his former pastor to keep quiet.

The retired pastor, who came under fire after an old sermon where he said that the September 11 terrorist attacks were ‘America’s chickens coming home to roost’, said that he was offered $150,000 to stay silent until the election was over.

Read the whole thing. Granted, this was during the 2008 campaign but if the Main Stream Media can draw inferences about Romney from a high school prank 45-years-ago then I guess we know how corrupt Obama is from actions of four-years-ago.
